Power management and distribution devices are in increasingly widespread use, principally as a result of the negative impact of RF pollution which surrounds us in daily life. The popularity of streaming devices has brought with it a realisation that it’s a technology which can seem particularly susceptible to the ingress of unwanted noise in the replay chain.

Compromises in power distribution and cabling will limit both absolute sound quality and the consistency of the results. Atlas has long been at the forefront of battling noise, protecting against RF (RadioFrequency) and EM (ElectroMagnetic) Interference. Our Eos components are very much focused on the elimination of the distortion caused by both air and mains-borne interference.

It’s important to understand that this interference is not directly audible as hiss or hum, but its effect is heard when it‘s substantially reduced or minimised – typically the system will gain in overall dynamic range and coherence, with improved sound-staging and improved timing. Music becomes clearer and easier to follow, without any change in the fundamental tonal character of the system. A reduction in exaggerated ‘spitty’ sibilance is often heard.

A multi-layer carbon-loaded/OFC shielding configuration with dual-drain distortion-free screen system encases high-purity high current capacity 2.5mm² OFC conductors. Particular attention has been paid not only to the electrical design but also to addressing the harmful effects of unwanted vibration. Conductors, their enclosing high-efficiency dielectric and the terminating connections themselves benefit from precisely-targetted damping.
