Eos Modular 4.0em
Premium Fully-Screened Power Block.

We live in an extremely polluted environment in electrical terms. Mobile phones, computers, domestic appliances etc, each potentially contribute to RFI (radio frequency interference) and EMI (electromagnetic interference). Creating ‘noise’ which adversely affects the performance of your equipment. Your system itself and your household wiring typically also add to the problem. Even the neon power indicators on conventional domestic blocks are a source of noise, which is why we don’t fit them to our blocks.
Ensuring a clean power supply is a fundamental step in removing such noise, which is why we’ve created the Eos Modular Power Management System, comprising two mains blocks and a series of complementary power cables.
The Eos Modular 4.0em is a premium, fully screened power extension block designed and built to deliver unimpeded power to the most sophisticated audio system components. Performance is further enhanced by integration with our Grun Coherent Earthing System.
The block is internally wired with the same high-purity OFC conductors as our 4.0em power cable. Consistency of elements is highly desirable in this context, minimising material ‘barriers’ which are themselves points of weakness. Housed in a robust steel chassis, the Eos Modular 4.0em can be supplied with either 6 unfiltered power sockets, or in a 3 unfiltered/3 filtered configuration. The latter are particularly suited to use with streamers, network bridges etc.
The block is fully shielded, constructed from a welded steel chassis with anti-vibration contact damping and is configurable with optional filtered sockets. All components are of the highest quality, with the filtering circuit board being of heavy-duty design with gold-plated connections.
We use a technique called ‘Atlas ssd’ (sequential socket decoupling) to ensure that even those sockets which are not subjected to inline filtration enjoy a level of interference-free operation. The benefit is all the sockets perform and measure identically; not the case with normal domestic blocks where the sockets nearest the cable entry typically perform best because the impedance rises as resistive losses accumulate on each ‘daisy-chained’ socket.

Reviews. What the specialist media say…

Separately, these products all work. Together they are formidable. The genius of the Atlas Cables Grun Coherent Earthing System and the Mavros cables and the Eos is the integration of the system into both cables and a power strip/distribution block, items that are generally costly. The Grun system has an edge because it’s such a holistic approach, not to mention an economical one.

…in the modern Olympic world of marginal gains for improved high end performance, Atlas Cables appears to have delivered an advantage in power mains distribution.

A recording of concertos from Telemann’s Tafelmusik collection highlights the improvements in the dynamic range and expressiveness of the performance that I can detect with this unit installed.

It’s in no doubt in my mind that the Atlas Eos and its associated power cables have an impact upon the sound by adding it to your system. I think if you have never used mains blocks/filters/conditioners before then bringing this to the table will bring pleasing results.
