3.5mm outputs are increasingly common given the proliferation of ‘dual purpose’ portable audio players. These devices are frequently used in sophisticated home audio systems, but until recently, there have been few high-quality low-noise interconnects with 3.5mm connectors.

The Element Metik 3.5kmm features multi-core conductors comprising two identical pairs of OFC wires within a dual-layer OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) woven shield.

The Metik range of solder-free cold-weld jack plugs brings the class-leading continuous signal path performance of our Achromatic and Ultra RCA connectors to portable device interconnects. Featuring precision copper alloy contacts, our cold-weld Metik plugs provide a precision termination for connecting mobile devices where sound quality is paramount.

Conventional jack plugs typically suffer degraded signal integrity, principally because of using low-grade components, soldered connections and/or screw fixings which distort the cable dielectric (insulation), producing measurable deterioration in the cable’s performance.
