The original aim of the Atlas Asimi project was to take a completely fresh look at cable design and, where necessary, to develop new techniques to create a cable which would satisfy the most critical listeners for years to come. For this latest generation version, we again went back to basics, re-assessing our existing design & manufacturing processes, exploring different construction methods and experimenting with new materials.
Silver cables have something of a reputation for unpredictable sound quality in some quarters; we believe the Asimi definitively shows the problem is typically with either: a] low-grade materials and poor manufacture; or b] using high quality silver cables which can reveal previously unnoticed limitations in the source material or elsewhere in the system.
The Asimi Ultra L RCA features a pair of silver conductors, manufactured using the highest-quality ‘Ohno Continuous Cast’ technique for drawing pure silver, coupled with an advanced microporous PTFE dielectric. This in turn is covered by a continuous electrostatic screen and a silver-plated copper shielding braid, ensuring minimal susceptibility to RF interference and noise.
The ultra low-mass, wide bandwidth, cold-weld Ultra L (Latik) RCA plug benefits from an innovative and extremely stable non-conductive 3D-printed geometric lattice structure. The cable also incorporates our precision dd (dual-drain) system and Atlas’ Grun Coherent Earthing System (Grun lead & spade adapter included).
The result is the best cable we currently know how to make. Asimi, perhaps more than any other product, is responsible for Atlas now being viewed as one of a handful of top manufacturers worldwide.
