Bi-wire cables can offer performance benefits when the two halves of the loudspeaker's crossover are electrically ‘separated’ to allow bi-wiring (and bi-amping, if so desired). Available in 2–4 and 4–4 connector configurations.

Asimi employs very high-purity OCC (Ohno Continuous Casting) silver conductors, arranged in a complex multi-stranded layout, with each cable leg composed of 3 pairs of solid conductors (two pairs plus one pair), totalling an unusually high 5.5mm².

In most silver cables, the conductor size is compromised to reduce cost — explaining why some critics suggest silver cables offer the listener very sweet high frequencies but no weight or authority at low frequencies. That’s certainly not true of the Asimi, with several reviewers commenting on the sense of physical presence conveyed.

Our focus was also on insulating and protecting the silver. Accordingly, the Asimi has its conductors enveloped in our microporous PTFE dielectric. This air-spaced material (air is a theoretically perfect if impractical insulator), unique to Atlas, significantly improves on the performance of the solid dielectric materials that were previously the best available option.

Such obsessive attention to detail — and the combination of the finest materials and consistent precision manufacturing methods — produces a cable which HiFi World’s reviewer described as “the best he’d ever heard” and HiFi Plus summarised as “one of the very, very best.”

Our goal is to make cables with virtually no discernable character or sound of their own — Asimi is engineered to ‘disappear’ in your system, conveying the performance of your equipment with total transparency.

It should be considered, though, that using such high-quality silver cables can be ruthlessly revealing of previously unnoticed limitations in the source material or elsewhere in the system. Your dealer should be able to advise on recommended system optimisation measures.

This cable is fitted as standard with the Transpose Modular Termination System, which allows easy switching between Z (Gold or Silver 4mm Z-plug), S (Gold or Silver OCC spade) or E (Expanding plug versions as your requirements change. Expanding 4mm plugs are the standard configuration, please specify at time of purchase if you require an alternative connector. Alternative connector kits are available from your Atlas dealer.
